As first generation ranchers, we understand the value and importance of mentorship and education. We wouldn't be here if not for the the grace and patience of many teachers over the years. Our goal is to develop our own apprenticeship program that teaches the fundamental skills of stockmanship, horsemanship, holistic grazing, animal husbandry, land management, infrastructure maintenance, and entrepreneurship among other things. All of which are just a few of the many skills that are required to be successful in agriculture.
We also want to provide pathways for youth or adults in the diaspora, whether Fulani or not, to learn pastoralism and ranching in a space that is culturally relevant. By drawing on the pastoral traditions of the Fulani and Tuareg, we will provide a space for people and communities to re-acclimate themselves with the skills and life ways of their ancestors.
